Lesvos Solidarity Joins Demonstration for Justice for the Tembi Crime

Lesvos, Greece – In solidarity to the families of the victims of the Tembi crime, Lesvos Solidarity announces that all her activities are suspended and both NAN Social Kitchen and Safe Passage Bags Workshop will remain closed for the public on Friday, February 28th. This decision comes as part of Lesvos Solidarity’s participation in the demonstration on Lesvos, which calls for justice for the 57 lives lost in the Tembi train crash.

As Efi Latsoudi, co-founder of Lesvos Solidarity, said, “We feel compelled to join this demonstration, as the demands of the familly members of the Tembi crime for justice and accountability remain unmet. We have been calling for justice for the thousands left to drown off the shores of Lesvos, Pylos and beyond. We could not stay silent for our own. If we add up the ongoing construction of Vastria that goes completely against the common interest of the Lesvian society, the complete unaccountability for the pusbacks on Lesvos and Greece, the wiretapping of opposing politicians, the uninvestigated killings of journalists amongst others, ultimately on Friday we join the calls of thousands of Greek citizens for the restoration of our democracy and the rule of law in Greece”.

Lesvos Solidarity stands firm in its commitment to advocating for justice, accountability, and the restoration of human dignity for those affected by such criminal acts. The organization urges all those who can join the demonstration to continue pressing for the rights of the victims and their families.
